Thirty-some years ago, when I was about 14 years old, my mom enrolled me in an evening photography class at the local college, sparking a lifetime love for photography.

Over the years, I have taken thousands and thousands and thousands of photos – many on 35mm film, many more in digital. About a year ago, I started converting my favorite film photos to digital, which is a time-consuming process.

Just recently, I have started to sort through my digital photos, culling the ones that are not worth keeping and organizing those with value.

Because I have been taking digital photos since 2006, it was obvious that this will be a long project, so I thought maybe I’d break it down into chunks, starting with recent photos and working my way back into the time capsule of old photos.

The most recent chunk is all the photos I’ve taken since 2014. Four-ish years shouldn’t be too bad, right?

Uh, wrong. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that I had nearly 20,000 photos to go through.

This could take some time.
